November 11 Update from the Pilgrims

We have done so much that it's hard to summarize.  It's a wonderful group of kind, genuine souls who are attentive and all seem to be having a good time.  Here's a bit of where we've been and some of the spiritual lessons discussed.

We hear people at home are praying for us.  Thanks very much!  --- LAURIE

November 4 - Update on the Holy Land Pilgrims

Day Two of our adventures.

Tuesday we visited the Jordan River where John the Baptist baptized Jesus.  This is near Mt Nebo, where the Israelites entered the Holy Land--2 new beginnings in one area.

Then we visited the ruins of Herod's palace where John was beheaded.  Here, Father Kamal relates what John experienced to how we get to expectations of God, when he often has other plans. (The McAllisters celebrated their 50th anniversary this year...and here they are, still in love.)

First is our Jordanian Christian guide, Enad, explaining about the ancient Madaba mosaic inside St. George's Church.  It is called God's salvation on a map.  It covers from the Exodus of the Jews to Christ -- all of the Holy Land.
