After Jesus is executed all the disciple's hopes are dashed. Obviously, he was not the Messiah. He will not free them from Roman subjugation. He will not fulfill the old promises of Abraham and Moses. They are utterly dejected, afraid and wondering what to do with all that they have seen and experienced.
Until one evening... when a stranger who they have let into their midst sits down at the supper table to eat with them. The stranger takes bread, blesses it, breaks it and distributes it. Everything changes.
