At the darkest, dreariest and most depressing time of the year (for most people) comes the official season of the church year that anticipates our natural human reactions. When nature’s wonders are dying and darkness dominates we can’t help but ask difficult questions of ourselves. We bring these questions to St. Paul’s. We bring them to our religion for respite.
What we hear is that the world is passing away, including things that need to pass: the works of darkness. And that we should lift up our heads and focus on the eternal truths and the inevitable outcome if we can only understand it, and trust in Jesus.
