February 17, 2019 - When Luke says "poor" he means destitute, not depressed.

We just got done thanking God for bringing us the good news, and then Luke unloads on us:

WOE TO YOU who are rich, full, laughing, popular.

Blessed are the destitute, the starving the scorned.

To some of us, this is a strange definition of good news. Take it as a warning, folks. Jesus is leveling with us. None of the good things are guaranteed. You need more.
